Wine Charms

by Renee Allen

Hi y'all!

I've been working on the charms for my corks tonight.  Lessee, there's plastic grapes and leaves (LOVE that plastic fruit!), some grape clusters I made from beads from last year using this tutorial and some fun glass beads.  I made the Tim Holtz charms tonight using vintage liquor images and embossed metal using the technique I blogged about in an earlier post from Creations from Christie.   Aren't they fab?  :D

Cork Update

by Renee Allen

Hi y'all!

I finally had a little time to try out our new drill press tonight.  I love this new toy!  It made drilling holes in the corks so much easier than hand drilling.  I barely made a dent in the corks I have, but did manage to get the holes drilled and washers attached on a couple of dozen tonight.  Check it out!  :)

Next step will be wire wrapping and decorating!  See you then!  -r xoxo

Decorative Wine Cork Ornaments

by Renee Allen

Hi y'all!

I found this tub o'wine corks while I was organizing my workroom that are still waiting to be turned into something wonderful.  I can't throw a wine cork away - they're too pretty.  So, I'm going to make some wine cork ornaments.  Hang 'em on a Christmas tree, use them for a ceiling fan pull, hang them off a wine bottle for a hostess gift... maybe a keychain?

My biggest issue was drilling holes into the corks.  It's hard to hand drill and center a cork well.  Hello, drill press!

Aren't they lovely?   Little works of art.

Next step is drilling and attaching washers to the ends.  See you then!
